Certification Testing

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Pennsylvania requires assessment of candidates in basic skills, general knowledge, professional knowledge and subject area knowledge before a certificate may be issued. Three documents are recommended reading:
  1. Policies and submission procedures in CSPG 21 - Testing. (PDF)

When the new passing scores go into effect, PDE will not be able to supply qualifying scores based on GPA until the test has been operational for some time. PDE will announce these when they become available.

  • The qualifying scores based on GPA for the Mathematics Content Knowledge test (5161) have been updated. See testing chart for corrected calculations.

  • Environmental Education (test code 0831) is still available. Look for the "Special Administrations" link on the Praxis Pennsylvania page
