​In-Service Seminars for Individuals Interested in Operating a Licensed Private Academic School

These seminars provide valuable information to prospective and present school owners. The application and forms necessary for operating a Private Academic School (PAS) are given out along with guidance on how to complete. The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires that interested individuals review the State Board of Private Academic Schools Regulations before registering for an in-service seminar. PAS In-service seminars are held the first or second Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in PDE’s Harrisburg office at 333 Market Street, Harrisburg, PA 17126 or via Zoom as indicated below. Only two participants from each school may register to attend. One of the attendees from the school must be the Education Director. You must have a confirmation letter to attend whether it is in-person or via Zoom.

Upon deciding on the date that you would like to attend, please email ra-nppss@pa.gov to request an in-service registration packet. Once your registration is processed, you will receive a confirmation letter indicating the date for which you are registered. Please bring your confirmation letter to this in-service. You must attend the in-service to receive the PAS application. If you do not register to attend, you will not be admitted to the in-service. No exceptions. The in-services fill up quickly and there is no standby list.
