Yes. Complete applications are due September 23, 2022. Funds for successful applications will be available beginning in the Fall of 2022.
A total of $1 million is available for this grant competition. Two types of grants will be available:
Planning grants of one year duration (2022-2023) with a maximum dollar amount of $100,000; and
Implementation grants of two-year duration (2022-2023 and 2023-2024) with a maximum dollar amount of $250,000.
Grantees will be contracting directly with PDE.
Higher education institutions awarded planning grants will receive the total amount of the grant at the beginning of the grant period. Reporting will be required at the end of the grant period.
Higher education institutions awarded implementation grants will receive the award amount in two payments; half of the total award amount will be disbursed at the beginning of each grant year. An initial report will be required at the end of the first year, and a final report will be due at the end of the two-year grant period.
Current PA-approved traditional and alternative educator preparation programs (EPPs) are eligible to apply for funding. Funding will be awarded to those applicants who demonstrate a willingness and ability to develop a sustainable partnership with one or more LEA's and/or other relevant partners including Local Workforce Development Boards and organizations active within one or more of the Pennsylvania STEM ecosystems.
