April 5, 2020
On Friday, you received multiple emails from the department
regarding new guidance on graduation and end-of-year activities, as well as a
new grant opportunity to help LEAs provide equitable continuity of education
during the COVID-19 school closure.
In addition to those emailed updates, the department
made several updates to its COVID-19 website yesterday providing FAQ
on Graduation Requirements, the Perkins Grant, 21st Century
Community Learning Center programming, and other topics.
Further, our partners at PEMA are collecting information
from political subdivisions – like school districts- regarding some of the
COVID-19 costs they have incurred. The information PEMA is seeking is for costs
that are not eligible for reimbursement by a federal agency such as the U.S.
Department of Agriculture (USDA). Please
see the COVID-19 Cost Reporting Instructions (PDF) and the Eligible
FEMA Emergency Protective Measures for further information about this
high level data collection.
Please complete this survey from PEMA
regarding a high level snapshot of unanticipated expenses you have incurred, as
a result of COVID-19, from January 20, 2020 through March 25, 2020.
Once you complete this survey, PEMA will include you on the distribution list
to receive future surveys and instructions regarding available emergency
funding related to these expenses.
Finally, I’d like to express my sincere thank you for all
you are doing to support all Pennsylvania learners.
