Guidance on Bullying of Students with Disabilities, USDE, Office for Civil Rights, October 2014 – On October 21, 2014, the Office for Civil Rights published a Dear Colleague Letter regarding disability-based harassment. USDE also published a parent fact sheet in conjunction with the guidance letter that provides an overview of what school are required to do when students with disabilities experience bullying and harassment.

Guidance on Schools' Obligations to Protect Students from Student-on-Student Harassment on the Basis of Sex; Race, Color and National Origin; and Disability, USDE, Office for Civil Rights, October 2010 – This Dear Colleague Letter outlines schools' obligations to address peer-to-peer harassment and bullying on the basis of sex, race, color and national origin, and disability under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
