Yes. Complete applications are due October 7, 2022. Funds for successful applications will be available beginning in the Fall 2022.
A total of $2 million is available for this grant competition. PDE will award planning grants of one year duration (2022-2023) with a maximum dollar amount of $100,000.
Current PA-approved traditional and alternative educator preparation programs (EPPs) are eligible to apply for funding. Funding will be awarded to those applicants who demonstrate a willingness and ability to develop a sustainable partnership with one or more LEA's.
Grantees will be contracting directly with PDE. Higher education institutions awarded the grants will receive the total amount of the grant at the beginning of the grant period. Reporting will be required at the end of the grant period.

Section 8 - Purchased Services: Expenses for contractors providing training and/or professional development should be entered in this section.
Section 10 – Other Purchased Services: Enter expenses for student transportation, travel costs (meals, lodging, mileage), telephone, postage, and printing.
Section 11 – Supplies: All expenses for supplies and materials with an individual unit cost of $1,500 and under should be entered in this section. * Software, regardless of cost, should also be entered in this section*
Section 12 – Equipment: All expenses for materials and equipment with an individual unit cost of more than $1,500 should be entered in this section.
While applying in partnership is not a requirement, it is strongly encouraged. Lead applicants (educator preparation programs) partnering with one or more high-need local educational agencies will receive priority.
Faculty from institutions of higher education that will participate in planning of the integration of content and practice as part of the grant can receive stipends for their work. These are not direct salaries.
