Innovative Teacher and Principal Residency Programs

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has awarded $808,144 in grants to four universities to support programs that increase and retain the number of qualified school leaders serving the commonwealth's public schools.
This year's round of grants will ensure equitable expansion of one of the nation's most aggressive clinical residency initiatives. This is the third year of funding for the year-long residency programs principals. The following is the list of 2020-21 Innovative Principal Residency grant recipients.
Implementation/Expansion Grant Awards – This funding may be used to provide financial support to principals who undergo a full year of clinical experience before earning their administrative certification.

- Lehigh University, Allentown- $241,560
- Millersville University, Millersville - $249,046
- University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia - $117,538
- Temple University, Philadelphia - $200,000
Information on Teacher Residency Grants will be posted if funds become available. No competition is currently scheduled for Teacher Residency Grants.
