Team PDE-

Memorial Day is here – the unofficial start to summer. And although 2020 has been a little out of the ordinary, hopefully we’ll each find some time to relax, recharge and reconnect with friends (even if it is virtually) in the warmer weather.

While PDE’s physical building has been closed for two months, our team continues to serve our students and families every day. And as the pandemic has evolved, their needs have evolved, and we’ve been there to help them every step of the way. Thank you for your role in meeting their needs. 

I know many of us are participating in more virtual meetings then we ever imagined we would. To show your PDE pride, please consider using a PDE background in your meetings. You can find them on InsidePDE. By using these backgrounds, we show our spirit as well as our professionalism and commitment to service.

Also, the Office of Administration (OA) recently distributed guidance regarding state law and the recording of virtual meetings; noting that in Pennsylvania all participants must consent to being recorded. The OA guidance is available on InsidePDE – find it under Announcements (“Pause Before You Press Record”).

Finally, the commonwealth continues to advance toward re-opening, with additional counties moving into yellow status every week. You can continue to monitor Pennsylvania's process for re-opening online to see how your community is adjusting.
