Educator Effectiveness

Goal: To develop educator effectiveness models that will reform the way we evaluate school professionals as well as the critical components of training and professional growth.

This page is a source for the documents that provide both the regulations that further define and explain the new system as well as important resources to assist local education agencies (LEA) as they implement the new approach.

As PDE works to support the development of more effective educators in the classroom as well as those in school leadership positions, the true goal is to improve student achievement so that all of the children in Pennsylvania's public schools are prepared to enter a career or post-secondary training and become productive citizens.

Act 82

Act 82 of 2012, which was passed June 30, 2012, defined three groups of educators: Classroom Teaching Professionals, Principals and CTC Directors, and Non-Teaching Professionals.
